Online casino play in PEI, plainly

Red Shores Racetrack & Casino is a racetrack and a casino floor on Kensington Road. Online play on the island runs under its own rules, and the Kensington Road desk sets them out here, briefly and straight.

The rules on the island

The provincially regulated online gambling site in Prince Edward Island is alc.ca. Atlantic Lottery runs it for the PEI Lotteries Commission, which conducts and manages gaming for the province. That same arrangement covers both Red Shores facilities, the one on Kensington Road and the one in Summerside. Like everything Atlantic Lottery runs, alc.ca is 19+, so you need to be 19 or older to play there.

Private online casinos sit in a different place. The province has no licensing for them, so there is no provincial licence to look for. Its 2023 responsible gambling strategy says offshore online operators have no authority to conduct and manage lottery programs in PEI.

How this guide is paid

This guide earns money from paid links, and they appear on the home page alone. Each one is marked Ad. There are three: a button in the menu, a block below the first screen and a block near the end. All three go to one private online casino site for adults, and that partner pays the guide a commission.

The Kensington Road desk does not name the partner, and it can change. It has no connection with the racetrack casino, its operator or the province, and none of them pays this guide. The guide does not say the partner is licensed or approved in Prince Edward Island.

Help with online play

The PEI Gambling Support Line, 1-855-255-4255, is toll-free, confidential and open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is there for the person who gambles and for anyone affected, with no time limit on calls. Play on alc.ca, like everything Atlantic Lottery runs, is for people 19 and older. Before any online session, decide how much money and time you will spend, and stop there.
